Free cantilever balconies are, and have always been, an important asset to any construction project, helping attain higher quality of living. When a balcony slab without thermal partitioning is cast on to a heated building it creates the classic worst case scenario, in other words a thermal bridge. TheSchöck Isokorb® can eliminate this "Weakest Link" in the fascia. The more effective the thermal insulation is at this point due to use of the Schöck Isokorb®, the more minimal the risk of high levels of condensation, mould formation and the associated damage caused by this effect. Furthermore any chance of a thermal outflow and energy loss is minimised.

For optimum thermal insulation in the Isokorb® a highly effective HCFC-free insulation layer made from Polystyrol hard foam is used together with stainless steel. The Schöck Isokorb® unit offers a safe and uncomplicated solution when working with demanding energy conservation requirements. It is delivered ready to use, requires the minimum of effort to fit - and it acts as a load-bearing element as well! Because no two projects are identical the Schöck Isokorb® is available in different option packages for connecting reinforced concrete to reinforced concrete, reinforced concrete to steel and steel to steel.
