The advantage of runway and taxiway above-the-ground signalling signs is their modular concept that provides for maximum universality of their application and simplified tool-free maintenance. The products meet category I, II and III of the ICAO requirements – the international standard for civil aviation. The Elektrosignál division has own testing laboratory for checking the products at its disposal.

ID 6 Airport Control System
The ID-6 airport controland monitoring system is intended for the control and monitoring of light signalling and safety equipment of runways and taxiways of the airport. The system is dependent upon the configuration of runways and taxiways, the number of attending and information workplaces and airport periphery equipment and systems.
It can serve, for example, for the control of:
- Obstacle lighting
- Power supply equipment
- Fire signalling and protecting equipment
- Radio navigation equipment
- System of data reception, transmission and processing to and from the AFTN fixed aviation communication network
- Flight control information system
Principal elements of the system are as follows:
- Control server, controlling workstation, information workstations and subordinate workstations
- Communication equipment – modems, network cards, concentrators, mixers and communication lines
- PLC industrial automation system
- Display units
- Keyboards and positioning equipment
- UPS power supply units
Computers of the ID-6.2 system operate under the Windows NT, Windows 2000 Professional and higher editions. Lower level software is provided by the architectural SCADA software. The ID-6.2 system computers communicate through the TCP/IP protocol. The control server of the ID-6.2 system manages the operation of the computer network and data archiving. Selected data about the ID-6.2 operation can be printed automatically or on demand at any control workstation. For the case of the power supply outage, all elements of the ID-6.2 system run on the UPS supplies that ensure their back-up supply for at least 20 minutes. In addition to this, subordinate stations are equipped with a memory function that is storing the last input commands at the loss of communication or the ID-6.2 system.
